FISHING DETAILS

SUPERB SALMON FISHING FOR 4 TO 6 RODS

With exclusive salmon rights along 1 mile of river
Producing a ten year average of 170 salmon

The Ness is an outstanding Salmon River with a surprisingly short course from Loch Ness to the sea of about 8 miles. Through it run all the salmon for Loch Ness, Loch Oich, the River Garry and the many other smaller and less well known tributary rivers.

There are four pools, namely: The Laggan, the Pot, the Blackstream, and the Lady Pool.

The Laggan Pool fishes best in high water, the Pot at low water and the other two at almost any height, and as a result the river can be fished during practically any state of the water. It is normal practice for four rods to fish the water with an extra two rods being placed in high water. The resident ghillie is available all season with a second ghillie during the main fishing season.

Fishing is either by boat, of which there are five, off the bank or wading. Wading is relatively easy, as the river bed is mainly small boulders with gravelly patches. The exception is the Laggan Pool which can be fished only by boat.

The fishing is from both banks and includes very good natural Brown Trout up to 5 lbs.

During the months of January to May fishing can be arranged on the Rivers Moriston, Garry and Oich, please note that 3 weeks advance notice is required.

Fly casting lessons are available on request from the resident Gillie.
